Supervisor, Production Management


Tech Data is seeking our next Production Management Supervisor to lead a brand new program starting in November!

The Production Management Supervisor oversees the programmable products operations within assigned scope of responsibility for one or more of the following processes: integration assembly, device programming, pc integration and configuration, testing, technical repair, planning and quality assurance.

The Supervisor provides high quality, cost effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands.

The Supervisor optimizes facilities utilization, process execution and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations.

The Supervisor provides oversight and direction regarding human resource, financial and operational activities which may encompass any of the following or related activities as well as other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Supervises a team of technicians responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, repairing, and resolving technical problems on equipment and components.
  • Assembles and installs a variety of hardware and electronic components to standard build andcustomized specifications using state-of-the-art technology and processes.
  • Integrates, configures and tests a variety of PC hardware, operating system software andperipherals
  • Plans, develops and/or implements quality assurance procedures.
  • Evaluates quality deviationsto determine cause, effect, and corrective measures to remedy such deviations.
  • Surveys customers periodically regarding accuracy of shipments, quality of product, efficiency of process, adherence to specifications and overall customer experience.
  • Ensures work area is well maintained and in compliance with all safety regulations anddepartment policies including Electro Static Discharge (ESD) requirements.
  • Ensures equipment is safe, in good repair, functioning appropriately and calibrated to be in fullcompliance with required military, ISO and other quality standards.
  • Participates in the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of new equipment or equipment enhancements.
  • Creates, reviews, updates, presents, manages and/or contributes to a variety of statistical,narrative, financial regularly scheduled and ad hoc written and oral reports and presentations.
  • Assesses productivity measures, identifies trends and monitors department activity.

Job Level Specifications:

  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business or technical support teams comprisedof individual contributors.
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion.
  • May coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
  • Directs routine and repetitive operations of work unit.
  • Assignments are largely established in accordance with schedules and deliverables.
  • Decisionsare guided by policies, procedures and business plans.
  • Interacts daily with subordinates and peers within similar functions primarily for the purpose ofexchanging information.
  • Decisions have a direct impact on work unit operations. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieveresults might cause delays in schedules and require the allocation of more people and financial resources.

Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions


  • 3-5+ years of experience in a leadership position preferred


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

This Supervisor supports the Technicians and a Technician Lead on both 1st and 2nd shift. The work schedule will be required to cover at least part of both of these shifts. (The work schedule may look like 9-5pm, 10-6pm for example as 2nd shift starts around 3pm)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
