Electronic Repair Technician, Part-Time

As an Electronic Repair Technician you will analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve technical problems on equipment or components.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

Principal Responsibilities

  • Able to use multi meters, oscilloscopes and signal generators.
  • Understand and have practice in troubleshooting electronics devices at component level.
  • Recognize electronics components and understand their functions.
  • Understand Conductors, insulators, and resistors- voltage and current.
  • Able to read electronic and logic schematics and blue prints.
  • Apply Electric Law. Has advanced through whole and surface soldering skills.
  • Recommends replacements or repairs as appropriate.
  • Performs equipment and component cleaning, regularly scheduled maintenance services and equipment calibration.
  • Completes documentation itemizing services and updates related logs, e. g., inventory, environmental.

  • Performs functions moderately complex in nature and recognizes the need to apply various methods to accomplish tasks.

  • Sets priorities for performing work and managing time to complete tasks.
  • Interacts with peers and direct management.
  • Some exchange of information with other internal departments or work groups is required to perform role.
  • Impact of decisions may affect the department.
  • Errors may result in moderate loss of time, resources and customer/user satisfaction.

Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

Work Experience: 2+ years

Education and Certification(s): High School Diploma or equivalent

Distinguishing/Preferred Characteristics

  • Specific department may require specialized certification, e. g. A+.
  • May require standing for prolonged periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Overtime may be required based on business need.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
